i think there should be a "remember me" checkbox which saves you from having to enter your username or ID and password each time you visit the zone. lots of other websites have this.

but there's the invisibility feature and if you have the sight remember you, you can't really go invisible that easily. ...

i agree with min plus it wouldn't really be a good feature on shared computers etc. a lot of people access this site from colledge / university

But then don't check the box...plus, one could set whether they would want to remain visible or invisible by default, and that could be stored in the cookie for persistence. There's always the /i command if you want to change your visibility status.

I think i like it the way it is. It's not like other websites, but if it makes some of you happy...

I like the idea. I guess to me, I only use one or two computers, and it would be easier for me. This is just speaking on behalf of myself.

But doesn't remember me makes it so that you're always logged in to the zone, even when you're not? lol. Like, for myspace and facebook, they have it so that the remember me consists of just remembering the user name in the edit box, and then you just type in the password. Maybe it can be something like that for people who does want the remember me check box. I just think it's pointless, but that's me, lol

I like things the way they are now, but I can see why people would like this feature.

Post 9 by pianogirl (Generic Zoner) on Wednesday, 11-Mar-2009 10:53:58

twkav is right, you could have a setting that would let you control whether the system logged you in invisibly by default, assuming of course that you were premium. Personally I use school computers half the time so wouldn't really be able to use this feature, but I definitely wouldn't mind having that for at home.

Why wouldn't both checkboxes work equally and simultaneously? I fail to understand what the invisibility feature has to do at all with the remember me checkbox.

I agree, i like it the way it is

I agree about having it it will save me alot of problems as well I don't use school computers to go on here so this would work. And the invisable thing well I am not premeom so can't use that feature and I am thinking of upgradeing anyway but not sure yet. anyway I think we should have it. Thanks Kevin

good question ash, i'm not sure either

Post 14 by maddog (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Friday, 13-Mar-2009 11:36:08

The problem I can see with this from a community leader standpoint, is that someone can leave this box checked, and then have another zone member over, and then that zone member could fuck with that person's account. Then, that person will be banned, and he'll write us a letter saying, "oh, well, I didn't do it, it was the person that came over that did it". How can we prove either or? I for one, would prefer to stick to the idea of just typing in your username and password everytime upon logging in. As for invisibility, perhaps that could be something added to your settings if you're premium, as list in your default settings.

Hmmmm, yeah that makes sense. Plus, I E has the ability to remember the passwords so there's not much trouble to type in your user ID.

I like the idea of a log in remember me check box but then again I use robo form to fill in my stuff and most of that is password protected so I don't have to worry about someone messing with my account.

Take care.

I'm just catching up on boards, but I totally agree with Ather on this.

Post 18 by Thepianoman (Newborn Zoner) on Wednesday, 01-Apr-2009 9:49:21

I like the idea because what if you forget your user ID? What if you just want to be a clik away from sending quicknotes and updating your profile?
Gmail also has this feature!

Post 19 by marrie1 (Veteran Zoner) on Friday, 03-Apr-2009 15:03:51

Yep that would be nice, and maybe something stating that if you are on a school comp then checking this box is not a good idea. How's that to add on to the suggestions?

Post 20 by MelodicFate (Zone BBS Addict) on Saturday, 04-Apr-2009 11:08:56

I agree with Atheer and Alicia. Besides, it's not that hard to type in your information. If you forget things easily, write these things down where they won't be looked at or found. I just don't see what is so nice about it. For example, I use firefox, which has the ability to remember this kind of stuff, but I don't have it remembering my passwords and usernames.

I agree with the last poster, if you have a long user name, type in the id number. so, I'm against this idea, how hard is it to put in your user name /id and password?
